About: I am a demographer whose work examines aging in sub‑Saharan Africa, focusing on mortality, longevity, morbidity, and inequalities in later life. My interests extend to broader demographic issues such as fertility transitions, family formation, and late‑life migration. I also specialises in evaluating the completeness and quality of Civil Registration and Vital Statistics systems, particularly age data, which underpin reliable aging indicators. I advocates for stronger recognition of Africa’s aging populations in development policy and data systems. Trained at Université Paris 1 Panthéon‑Sorbonne and the European Doctoral School of Demography, I worked at INED and NYU Abu Dhabi and now contributes to research at APHRC.
