With the objective to strengthen the Human resource in health in rural areas in Tanzania, The Tanzanian Training Centre for International Health (TTCIH) in Ifakara, Tanzania have introduced eLearning on Maternal and Child Health as means building capacity for health workers especially the lower and middle cadre associate clinicians. The module is delivered through blended learning approach in two modes:
- Online where there is access to network or internet.
- Offline mode for areas where there is no Network infrastructure.
The graduates of this program are useful resource in rural areas where the infrastructure is not conducive for emergency conditions of pregnant women and newborns as well, they are able to attend such critical cases and hence save mothers and children lives (MDG 4&5).
